The Commission stated that applicants are required to possess qualifications relevant to the positions they intend to apply for. These include degrees, Higher National Diplomas, National Diplomas, NCE certificates, as well as SSCE qualifications with the required credits for entry-level positions. Certain specialised roles also require professional licences and certifications.
General eligibility requirements include Nigerian citizenship by birth, medical fitness certified by an approved government hospital, good character and the absence of any criminal record. Applicants are also expected to possess valid means of identification and contact information.
The Commission further stated that minimum height requirements apply to some categories, while drivers and applicants seeking legal positions must possess valid professional licences relevant to their fields.
For age requirements, officer cadre applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old, while candidates applying for marshal inspector and road marshal assistant positions are expected to be between 18 and 30 years old. Articulated truck drivers are required to fall within a separate age bracket specified by the Commission.

The FRSC advised prospective applicants to ensure that all information and documents submitted during the application process are accurate and genuine, warning that multiple applications or falsification of records may lead to disqualification.
The Commission also cautioned members of the public against fraudsters demanding payment in exchange for employment opportunities, reiterating that the recruitment process is entirely free and that only shortlisted candidates will be invited for subsequent screening stages.
