Fubara Withdraws From APC Governorship Primary In Rivers
Fubara disclosed his decision in a statement personally issued on Wednesday, saying the move was taken in the interest of peace, unity and stability in Rivers State.
According to the governor, his decision to step aside from the contest should not be interpreted as fear, weakness or surrender, but as a sacrifice aimed at ensuring harmony and progress in the state.
“Let it be clearly understood that I stepped aside from participating in the upcoming Rivers State gubernatorial election not out of weakness, fear or surrender, but out of conviction and sacrifice so that Rivers State may move forward in peace and unity,” he stated.Fubara also reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving the people of Rivers State until the end of his tenure.
The governor’s withdrawal comes amid ongoing political realignments and growing attention surrounding the APC governorship race in Rivers State ahead of the next election cycle.
