Who is the legitimate Eze Ndigbo Kano?
This has been a very big question and has been an ongoing debate amonsgt many Kano residents especially the Igbo community following the presence of Igwe Boniface and Igwe Ikechukwu. However, 19yrs long debate has finally been brought to a halt by the Judgement of the Kano division of the Court of Appeal.
Presided over by Justice Boloukuromo Moses Ugo in the suite CA/KN/64/2022.
This was disclosed in a Press statement issued by HRM Igwe Ikechukwu Akpaudo Oliver JP via his official facebook page @ HRM Ikechukwu Akpaudo Oliver JP- Eze Ndigbo Kano.

JUDGMENT

...The Respondent had approached Mr. Chi Nwogu (Abia) and Martins Osulor (Ebonyi) in March 2009 after the death and burial of late Eze Barr. O.T Nnadi in February 2009 who refused to crown him as Eze Ndigbo Kano and following their refusal the defendant went to Mr. Cletus Eze (Enugu- his kinsman ) who accepted to crown him Eze without any kingmaker or the council member or members and as at the time of late Eze Barr. O.T Nnadi died Chief JC Ojukwu was the Onowu and he also was not present at the clapping.
Therefore, that the said Mr. Cletus Eze was not one of the ICA patrons who in concernt with the Onowu performs the beafication and capping of Eze Ndigbo.
...Key points "The Onowu" and Patrons has a role to perform on the capping/installation of ICA and by the constitution of the ICA "It is only the regent or Onowu that can cap a traditional ruler but in their absence one can not do it" article 10A & B page 11 & 12 of the Igbo Community Association (ICA) constitution and whom were absent at the supposed crowning of the Respondent and thus rendered the selection and appointment as Eze Igbo inchoate.
This victory is indeed for every Igbo son and daughter.
