REVEALED:Governors Against #NairaRedesign Are Anti-Nigerians

Post Thumbnail
By: Amb. Nworisa Michael It is very disheartening and embarrassing to see some state governors suing the federal government over the #NairaRedesign. His Excellency Gov. Nasir El-rufai of Kaduna State and his counterpart Gov. Yahaya Bello, Kogi State and Gov. Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State are currently in the front line of this suit.
Nigerians should be conscious and not to let politicians play cheap politics on them. Because these same set of governors has been around and has witnessed ASUU and several bodies embark on numerous strikes without been seen to be taking any decisive action for the interest of Nigerians. It is very laughable now to see them all rushing to the Court, however, they should know better that Nigerians won't fall for such cheap political card.

AUDIO: #CBN Emefiele leaked phone conversation

Post Thumbnail
With today being 10/Feb; and many Nigerians still eager to know whether or not there'd be postponement in the #NairaRedesign a purported audio phone call recording of the CBN governor is been widely shared exposing him of a "cover-up" conversation. The leaked phone conversation featured the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, his deputy, Edward Adamu; the Director of Finance, Dayo Arowosegbe; and the Special Adviser to the CBN Governor, Emmanuel Ukeje allegedly discussing how to cover up the loss of over N500 billion stolen from the CBN in a private investment that collapsed. However, according to the then CBN’s spokesperson Mr Okorafor, the National Economic Management Team and the National Economic Council (NEC), chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, had approached the CBN in 2015 to assist state governments with Conditional Budget Support. The support was to assist states to pay the salaries, pensions and gratuities of their workers in the aftermath of the significant drop in global oil prices and associated Federation Accounts allocations. He said to facilitate the recovery of the economy from the continuous impact of the recession, the CBN provided about N650 billion in loans at 9 per cent with a two-year grace period to 35 states of the Federation. “These monies were distributed to the states monthly with documented approval of the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Presidency. “In closing the Bank’s 2018 accounts, external auditors in their Draft Account, erroneously classified about N150 billion of these loans as bad, which negatively affected the Bank’s Balance Sheet and shareholders fund,” Mr Okorafor said. Conclusion: The leaked audio purportedly exposing the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele in an N500bn cover-up deal is not recent. It first surfaced three years ago, precisely in 2019 published by Sahara Reporters.

#NaijaVotes: What Happens When #BVAS Is snatch By Hoodlums

Post Thumbnail
With barely 16 days to the general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission is optimistic on her ability to conduct free, fair and credible election Deputy Director of Information and Communications Technology, INEC, Lawrence Bayode, speaking on Channels Television’s special election programme, The 2023 Verdict on Wednesday reassures Nigerians that the Bimodal Voter Registration System cannot be manipulated. In the past elections, snatching of ballot boxes and violence by hoodlums has been witnessed during elections. According to Bayode, the BVAS will be deactivated from the back-end so that whoever snatched the device on election day will not be able to manipulate votes. He further states, “If a BVAS is snatched, we have a system in place that can deactivate that particular BVAS. “We deactivate it so that whoever snatches the device will not be able to do anything with the device because the device pushes the accreditation data automatically on its own even without the operator pushing a button. When it is idle, it pushes that accreditation data to the back-end.” Should hoodlums take the device to other places where they think they can manipulate the data on the device, the polling unit officer will report the incident. “If such thing happens, the PO reports and from the back-end, that device is deactivated so that the person who took away that device will not be able to do anything with the device.” #NigeriaDecide2023 #KanoPeaceCommittee #VoteNotFight_Kano Kindly share this story:

#VIDEO: Women Block National Assembly Over #NewNaira

Post Thumbnail
In a viral video shared online gro
up of women were seen standing and chanting songs at the enterance of the National Assembly thereby blocking the lawmakers from going in demanding that the CBN and Commercial banks makes available the #NewNaira available to the public. While so many Nigerians share same believe that the apex bank are involved hoarding the #NairaRedesign this is however not true as billions has already been distributed to commercial banks in the country. However, one of the key intention of this initiative by the Central Bank of Nigeria is to encourage online banking transactions and reducing the flow of cash in the country in a bid to further strengthen the security of the country. As it has been proven that kidnappers and armed robbers engage in collecting cash from their victims other than online transfers for fear of been caught Many Nigerians are lamenting over this development but this minght just turn out to be the greatest legacy president Mohammad Buhari GCFR might just be leaving behind as he leaves office. #NaijaDecide2023: How To Manipulate The #BVAS

Post Thumbnail
During the 2019 general elections Card Readers were used as a means of imploring technology to the voting system. This recorded its own successes but also faced more challenges and subsequently led to the introduction of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) by the Nigerian electoral umpire the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Many Nigerians feel so much relieved, developed stronger faith and are now more eager to participate in the electoral process believing that with all that has been said of the BVAS device there will be no room for rigging in the voting process. While the Independent National Electoral Commission shows confidence in conducting a free, fair and credible election with the aid of the BVAS electorates on their parts have critical roles to play in achieving this. Firstly, electorates must know and exercise their civic rights. This are what every Nigerian voter should know in other to avoid manipulation of the #BVAS; i. Be at your polling unit on time, before accreditation commences. ii. Demand that the adhoc staffs of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) shows public the display reading of the #BVAS and note that it is reading zero '0' before the accreditation. iii. Ensure to be around during the vote sorting and counting. iv. Ensure that the adhoc staffs snaps the results sheet when entered and transmits same with the #BVAS You have the right to stay in the polling unit even after casting your vote to observe the process, so don't let anyone harass you that you can not, in as much as you are peaceful and compose yourself in a civil manner. So many people have been asking how can one manipulate the #BVAS well, the answer is when as a politician you serve your ward, constituency , senatorial district, state according to the dividends of democracy you do not need to manipulate the electoral process or #BVAS because they are made to serve you according to your worth. While i will commend the electoral umpire for this stride Nigerians still await to see our compatriots who serve as adhoc staffs, security personels who are deployed to protect votes and those outside the shores of Nigeria take part in the electoral process. #NigeriaDecide2023 #KanoPeaceCommittee #VoteNotFight_Kano © Amb. OPINION: How #NairaRedesign Would Tackle Kidnapping & Armed Robbery- Amb. Nworisa Michael

Post Thumbnail
By: Amb. Nworisa Michael Here's how the #NewNaira tackles kidnapping and armed robbery. Eversince the announcement and introduction of the #NariaRedesign many Nigerians have been asking as to what benefit this offers the country already going through series of challenges. Ranging from kidnappings, banditry, fuel scarcity amongst others. Now, while it is proper to ask these questions and complaints from the public it is however important to note this benefits; A businessman traveling by road to get goods and travels with his cash unfortunately is been attacked by robbers, what do you think will happen to those cash? 20yrs ago traders from Kano State do travel with their cash hided in their vehicles to travel to placese like Onitsha and Lagos to buy goods but often do this at great risk because they could run into armed robbers or an accident might leave their vehicle on fire but in present times one would simply do an online transfer of funds and travel freely and with ease. Secondly, Kidnappers demand millions of naira from their victims and only take cash and not electronically because when they engage in online transactions they can be easily traced and caught. They do this Because they know there is billions of naira in cash in circulation so in essence what the Central Bank of Nigeria is trying to do is to call back all the naira in circulation in other to reduce the flow of cash. With this development when well uterlized would see to the drastical decline in cases of kidnappings and armed robbers in the society. One might as well decided to do a google search on other countries you'd be shocked to to see some do this every 7yrs but Nigeria hasn't for the past 19yrs. So in essence this development is for the good of all Nigerians irrespective of social class, race or any differences. Nigerians should endeavor to see beyond the present hardship faced as a result of some individuals with ill intensions who are trying to sabotage this initiative for their selfish gains. Commercial Banks on their part should invest more in further developing their online banking softwares so as to enable their customers transact with ease using those platforms.
